Several days later, an Interpol detective from Hong Kong (Lei Wulong) came to investigate the incident, mentioning that the suspect is most likely planning to enter The King of Iron Fist Tournament. She learned from her father's pupils that an unknown Chinese man (Feng Wei) showed up at the dojo, severely beat them, and put Asuka's father in the hospital. In 2009, Namco licensed a manga series based on the Tekken franchise, which is released under the name " Tekken Comic" and features Asuka as its main star. They are both practitioners of Kazama-Ryuu Kobujutsu, although their move-lists somewhat differ as of Tekken Tag Tournament 2. In that regard, she plays similarly to Jun Kazama, who hasn't been in a canonical Tekken game since Tekken 2. Tekken 6 is where her rivalry with Lili begins to intensify, as suggested in the story endings of both characters.Īsuka is primarily a defensive character who relies on punishing enemy whiffs and maintaining distance between her and her opponent with keep-out tools and low-risk pokes. She decides to enter The King of Iron Fist Tournament to capture her cousin and stop him. In the story of Tekken 6, Asuka was about to return to her normal life until she discovered that Jin Kazama, a relative, was the man responsible for the terrible war going on all over the world. Canonically, she was never able to find and fight said culprit, Feng Wei. In order to get her personal revenge and redeem her dojo, Asuka enters the tournament as well. In the next several days, a detective from Hong Kong, Lei Wulong, came to her and explained that the culprit would likely be entering The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5. The students there had been beaten severely and her father was taken to the hospital.
In her Tekken 5 story, Asuka returned home from school one day to find her dojo in ruins. She makes her first appearance in Tekken 5, introduced as a seventeen-year old high school student.

By nature, she believes very strongly in justice and devotes much of her free time playing vigilante, breaking up nearby gang fights by force. Asuka' Kazama was taught Kazama-style Traditional Martial Arts by her father, a dojo-master near Osaka, ever since she was a small girl.
